Real World Experience Built-in to CTD 292

    11/14/2019

Providing experiential learning opportunities helps prepare CHES students for success after graduation. CTD’s Trend Analysis and Fashion Forecasting, taught by Babs Davis, includes an annual project that takes students outside the classroom to learn from skilled practitioners in the apparel industry.

Recently, a group of apparel design students toured the Campus Collection facility in Tuscaloosa to learn more about the company, its manufacturing processes and the products they produce. Back in the classroom, the students were tasked with making mood boards to be used as inspiration for product graphics.

Once completed, the mood boards were presented to company owners and designers in the hopes one will inspire the design for a new T-shirt.

CHES counts on generous community partners like Campus Collection to provide interesting opportunities for our students to gain real world experience. The company is owned and operated by CHES alumni, Gigi and Chet Goldstein.

Gigi Goldstein shares insight into the T-shirt business with CTD students.
