    Is this major a fit for me?

    Students who succeed in the field of fashion retailing possess people skills, enjoy working with numbers and thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. If you follow creative trends and modern fashion, a retailing major maybe just the right fit for you.

    Will anyone be there to guide me?

    Absolutely. Each student in the fashion retailing concentration meets one-on-one with a faculty advisor during the fall and spring semesters. As the senior year approaches, students are involved in the internship process. Our internship coordinator guides Fashion retailing students through the entire application process as part of the course of study.

    How can I get involved?

    You can become a member of Fashion, INC., a student organization for apparel and textile students. The organization sponsors fashion events in both the fall and spring, showcasing the talent and designs of outstanding students. Planning and executing these events call on the skills of our retail students and provide excellent experience.

    Will I learn outside a lecture hall?

    Yes! Students majoring in fashion retailing complete an internship with major clothing and accessory labels such as Donna Karan, Eileen Fisher, and Coach in cities that range from New York to Dallas and Atlanta. Faculty ensure students graduate able to translate classroom learning into real world experience.

    Will I get to know my major professors?

    Faculty members know students by name as well as career goal. Your academic advisor guides you through course selection each semester and the internship coordinator assists you in finding the perfect placement for your industry experience.

    Where do graduates of the program typically work?

    Fashion retail graduates are prepared for jobs that include multiple levels of merchandise buying and store and department management. Positions are found in both wholesale and retail companies. Fashion Retail positions offer a variety of opportunities for advancement into the corporate sector as well.
